Understanding the Power of Choice

Introduction

Because man is free morale, God ties his destiny to his choices. Life and death, success and failure are strictly tied to our choices. We are all expected to live from the sum total of our daily choices. The way we live our lives interprets the sum total of our choices. When men make choices, they reap the consequences of their choices. God relates with men from the choices they make in life. God orders our lives from the choices of our lives. Every life is introduced to its destiny through choices. The path that leads to our life’s destination is forged in choices. Choice of where to live, what to eat, what to wear, the kind of marriage we want to have and the kind of children we want to raise are always before us. The choices we make in life interpret who we are. Our choices reveal us. There is power in choice. We must not trifle with the opportunities to make tangible decisions when they come. Rich destinies can be marred through wrong choices. Every tangible decision men make introduces them to a path. When men choose the game they want to play, they must accept the rule of the game. Choice rules and we can’t trifle with the rich opportunities choice provides for us.

What we know about ourselves and destiny will always help us to take important decisions. Every life is expected to be navigated through choice. It is wrong to use every door that opened itself to us. We must allow what we know about ourselves to control the sum of the choices we make. It is not possible to know how to live until you know what is written concerning you. Concerning Jesus Christ, the Bible says He came in the volume of the book to fulfill what was written concerning Him (Hebrews 10:7). The Messianic life of Jesus Christ was directed by the choices He made. Jesus Christ lived His life the way He was expected to live it because He had accurate knowledge of how He was expected to live. We must not allow those who don’t know anything about us to take important decisions for us. People should know us enough before they can take decisions for us. You need to be told that your life is your own and only you must live it.

People can ignorantly dabble into anything if they don’t know enough about themselves. It is not possible to be safe when we hand over our lives to whatever opportunity provides. People destroy their lives through ignorance. Grace to live a fulfilled life is tied to what we know about ourselves. Before God gave us life, He predetermined how our lives should be lived. Therefore the first step to every successful living is discovering how we must live. Somebody who was born and designed to play volley ball should not choose to be a carpenter. Because how we are meant to live is always predetermined, we must make our choices around it. To submit ourselves to every opportunity that presents itself to us is an obvious sign that our destiny is not dear to us.

God provides a way of escape from danger in our choices. Making right decisions is an important issue in our lives. Whatever happens to men happened to them on the path that they chose. Some people keep quiet when they are expected to say yes or no. When you keep quiet when you are supposed to say yes or no; it means that you have submitted yourself to every opportunity that was provided. When God provides a way of escape, we must make our choices to follow it; otherwise it will not be useful to us. Every opportunity that God provided must be willingly exploited.

God, like any other spirit, functions on earth through men’s choices. Spirits can’t force themselves on men. People should stop apportioning blame to God and others because they are expected to take responsibility for their actions. They are also expected to take responsibilities for their inaction. When God planted Adam at the east of Eden, He entrusted his destiny into his hands. God likes entrusting men’s destinies into their hands. God kept life and death before Adam and asked him to choose. Adam died because he chose death. Life and death are in the power of choice, anybody who died chose to die. People can’t be forced to die. Every choice we make has consequences.When we make choices in life, we face the consequences. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was not an evil tree. God didn’t create any evil thing. There was no evil tree in the garden of destiny. The tree of knowledge of good and evil represented the moderator of Adam’s fate. It was a tree planted in the garden to test Adam’s obedience and submission. The tree bore the ordinance of life and death. What is expected to kill men or make them alive is always before them. Sometimes through weaknesses and ignorance people turn what is supposed to be positive into negative. It is possible to turn your life helpers into obstacles. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil had Adam’s omnipotence. It was in Eden to prove and probably increase Adam’s resolve and determination to obey God. It was the weakness of Adam that turned the tree of his destiny into an offence.

Understanding the power associated with right choices is a great blessing. When God committed men’s lives to their choices, he made choice omnipotent. Those who want to arrive where they are going to should endeavor to follow the right path. God didn’t chase Adam out of Eden, He didn’t also force him to die. Going out of Eden and dying eventually were the consequences of Adam’s choice. There is power in our choices and we must recognize it. Those who know how to depend on the power of choice to take strong decisions will always enjoy endless miracles. Jesus Christ recognized the power of choice; that was why he chose the nails. He chose to be crucified because He understood the gain of sacrifice. I chose the life of a Eunuch because of its gain. I gave everything to God because like Jesus Christ, I know that a corn of wheat will abide alone except it is planted. You can choose to be different. You can choose to pay unusual price because of what you know about the future. Writing this book is not completely convenient if not for the knowledge you would glean from it. If life and death are tied to the power of choice, we must take its advantages to excel in life.
