Introduction

Although the word of God is one with God, it is also a servant of God. God depends solely on the power of His word to accomplish His divine purposes on earth. Every divine project that is meant to endure on earth is expected to be established through the surpassing power of God’s word. When God incarnates His word, He depends on men’s relationship with the eternal word to establish His kingdom. The word of God is everything to God. The word of God has both the eternal life of God and His unquenchable light. Those who desire to serve God diligently must lean on the power of His word to achieve it. Although there are five ministerial offices, each of these offices is expected to function from the word. God is introduced to the earth through His word. His power and manifest strength is revealed to the earth through His word. Every tangible relationship between God and men can only be established by the word. God makes Himself part of men by speaking to them.

God’s word is very powerful because it bears the eternal life of God. God lives by His word. In fact, it is the word of God that sustains the life of God. It is by the word of God that He created all things and it is by the same He also sustains all things. God’s word is living and very powerful. The best people on earth are those who diligently preach and teach the word of God. The best job on earth is to preach and teach the word. If God depends on the agency of His word to relate with man and his environment, we must not trivialize the ample opportunities of disseminating the word of God.

My life was personally transformed the day the Holy Spirit revealed to me how much God depends on His word. God will never separate Himself from His word. He does not deny His utterances. He is faithful and true to His utterances. Those who preach and teach the word of God are living and indispensable agents of His power. God says what He does and lives by what He says. The word of God is binding on God. Our value in the sight of God as believers is estimated by how we relate with His word. God is as near to us as His word can bring Him. The primary difference between the heathens and believers is in their relationship with the word of God.

Whatever that was created by the immutable word of God is expected to be sustained by the same. Any life that is disconnected from the word of God can’t be part of God. The reason why the ministry of the word is very important is because God cannot function where His word is not found. The earth will be subjected to gruesome pain if God refuses to speak. This is why those who God uses to speak are preservers of the earth. It is a wonderful thing to be a devoted servant of God’s word.

Right now, there is cry in heaven because the church has produced so many incompetent preachers who undermine the efficacy and power of God’s word. One of the ways to make God first in our lives is to give His word its due place. As New Testament preachers and teachers, we are all servants of God’s word. However, how far God will use us is determined by what His living word achieves in us. It is believers’ established relationship with the word of God that qualifies them to be servants of God.

While Jesus Christ was on earth, He was a servant of God’s word. The first viable step the man Jesus took was to wholly submit to the spiritual and mental conversion of Christ the living Word of God. For thirty biological years, Christ the Word of God tried the man Jesus and He was also tested by the word of Christ. The value of the man Jesus was introduced on earth through what Christ the living Word of God made out of His life. It was the close relationship of the man Jesus with the word of God that empowered Him to declare the spiritual kingdom of God. Wherever the word of God is preached, the power of God is made manifest.
