Taking Your Turn in Life and Ministry
Introduction

The life of ministries revolves around ethics and ministerial etiquettes. If you are called by God, you are meant to take turn behind another man who is also called by God. Genuine calling and ministerial assignment do not separate us from everybody; it also does not unite us with everybody. Working for God must bring us to a place of ministerial submission. Elisha submitted to Elijah while Joshua served Moses. Jesus also attended the baptism of sinners because of the importance of submission. If your individual assignment does not give you a place in the midst of men, then it does not have a place in God. Those who desire to be served should endeavor to serve others.

There is time for everything in ministry. No matter how unique your ministry is, it must connect you to other men you must dovetail with. However, time controls ministerial turn. Time is a creation of God that prevents everything from happening at the same time. God protects young ministers from ministerial errors and pitfalls as they take turn behind a more matured minister.

It is the lie of the devil to believe that the reason why you don’t have anybody you submit to is because you have a very unique assignment that only you understand. Although the messianic ministry of Jesus was controversial, John understood it. We must not allow satan to disconnect us from those who we are meant to dovetail with. Two is better than one and a threefold cord is not easily broken. If we isolate ourselves from those who are meant to encourage us, satan will find it easy to break us. In fact, nothing encourages satan to destroy men of God like ministerial isolation. If Jesus experienced fullness of the Holy Ghost only after His baptism, there are always blessings God kept for us in other people. I decided to write this book because of the importance of hiding ourselves from the spells of the devil. There is a shelter that submission provides for us that we must not ignore. Every successful ministry thrives where it is hidden. The ministerial path we are meant to follow must connect us to other ministerial paths built by men who have gone before us. When we ignore voices of men who are meant to speak for us in certain matters, we separate ourselves from God. God commands blessings in contacts and it is in contacts that He ordains life forever more. God interprets the assignment of our lives from turn. Avoiding everybody is as dangerous as accepting everybody.

The purpose of our life is meant to connect us to other purposeful men. Other men like Joshua and Elisha were called by God to fulfill unique assignments but the first assignment of their lives was to serve their masters. Being servant of Moses was more important to God than any other miracle Joshua performed in the Bible. In fact, I said in this book that Joshua the son of Nun was brought to limelight when he became the servant of Moses. God achieves more in us when we are serving than when we are being served.

However, every God-given purpose is established through service. The honour of every servant is in his service. It is service that gives us turn in life and ministry. The top is meant strictly for servants who are established by the oath of service. Service provides us with the ministerial crown we are meant to wear. One of the ways to know a man you are meant to serve or submit to is through clarity of vision. God gives servants destiny from the purpose of their masters. The assignment that Joshua accomplished was the assignment of Moses. God called Joshua in Moses. Accomplishing the purpose of God on earth unites men with themselves. Any purpose that separates us from those who are meant to unite with us must not be associated with God.

Serving a man doesn’t make you exactly like him. We are meant to serve our master with our definite uniqueness. In fact, you are behind the man because your uniqueness made you useful. God brought Joshua into leadership after the death of Moses because the remaining part of that journey requires battles. The healing ministry of Elisha was different from the confrontational assignment of Elijah. You are unique but your uniqueness is meant to be developed under your master. Everyone that serves do that with what he has. Therefore, saying that you are nothing is another way of saying that God does not exist.

The desire of this book is to see you successful. Heeding to its advice will definitely make you achieve more than you deserve. We must not see the time of service as a wasted time. In fact, the safety time of every minister is a time of service.

A book that teaches you how to watch your master’s back is an encourager that you need to introduce to your bosom friends. Embracing the principles outlaid in this book is meant to keep you safe and very successful both in life and ministry. Make it a must-read.

Make it a must read!
