Kings and Kingmakers
Introduction
In the Old Testament, kings were ordained by kingmakers. It was Samuel who ordained both Saul and David kings in Israel. Kingmakers are makers of crowns that kings wear. But in the New Testament, kings make their own crowns. Christ is the crown the man Jesus is wearing. The kind of crown we wear is controlled by what we produce from ourselves. As New Testament believers, we are both kings and kingmakers ordained by Jesus Christ to rule for Him on earth. If Jesus Christ must rule on earth, it is what believers provide for Him that He must depend on to rule.
Kings are both born and made. They follow steps to the throne. It is while on the steps that kings are made ready for the throne. The crowns that kings wear on the throne are made while on the steps. While on the steps, kings discover their uniqueness and strength. God rules the earth through what He gets from men. It is the kind of king that people deserve that God gives them, not the kind they want. Thrones are established through what God gets from kings.
