THE DOMINION OF WISDOM

INTRODUCTION

²⁶And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. ²⁷So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. ²⁸And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1vs.26-28)

³When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; ⁴What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? ⁵For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. ⁶Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

The man God created in His image and likeness is an embodiment of the wisdom of God. His ability to control everything God created stemmed from his capacity to be wise. It takes a lot of wisdom to exercise enduring authority. In dominion, wisdom is the principal thing. While transformational power helps to bring man into the realm of God where he can exercise dominion for God, wisdom helps to establish man in God’s realm. Every kind of wisdom has its strength. It is risky to have power without wisdom. The wise will always know what to do and when to do it. The intelligence Adam had to name the beasts of the field for God stemmed from his wisdom. Wisdom has knowledge. Wisdom can see. It is the continuous fellowship of men with the Spirit of wisdom that makes them gods. Men have to be brought to the realm of gods before they can be in charge for God.
