TAKING YOUR LIFE ASSIGNMENT IN STAGES
INTRODUCTION
Numerous life assignments that started courageously suffered shipwrecks because of the inability of men to take their life assignments in stages. There is time for everything. Great purposes are accomplished with time. Understanding what to do and when to do them attracts enduring success. Preparing for your life assignment is part of accomplishing it. Taking our life assignments in stages averts mishaps and provides us with steps that will enable us to get to where we are going. The messianic ministry of Jesus achieved an eternal purpose because He allowed the nature of the assignment to determine His steps. For those in ministry, the time of growth and preparation should not be a time to seek power to do miracles and accomplish wonders. The most important time in any building is the foundation-laying time. What God will accomplish through us is controlled by the foundation we lay. The waiting time is always the best time in the life of ministers. It is what God achieves in us that determines what He will depend on us to achieve in others. Transformation is far more important than manifestation.
Subjecting the ministerial steps to time was what made the messianic ministry of Jesus successful. Although Jesus came to start a Church, He died running a ministry because He could see beyond the grave. It takes a lot of discipline for people to wait on God’s time. Having the ability to interpret the end from the beginning prompted Jesus to always do the right thing. Future is predictable. Whether we will succeed in our life assignment or not depends on our preparation. What God will use us to achieve is determined by the way we are raised. Nobody can be used beyond what he sees. Any child that grows on his own is lost. If we must do the work of God, we must look like God. What we look at constantly and the things we desire to see reveal our values.
God produces rich values from children by subjecting them to teachers and governors. Teachers and governors help to discover and develop the abilities and talents in children. They also point them to life’s purpose and destiny. Teachers and governors are the eyes through which children see their future. The time when children are subjected to teachers and governors is a time of learning and impartation. It is an important time that determines how far we will go in life. Those who impart us are always part of our eternal company. It is not possible to separate our life assignments from those who got us ready for them. Great future can’t be apprehended alone.
Life is a story that is told in so many ways. There are always people that can’t be separated from the stories of our lives. It is very risky to learn from those who are not meant to teach us. Who we are and what we were born to accomplish should determine our impartation.
Growth involves movement; it also involves evolving and changing directions in life. Growth forces us to change direction; take new decisions and change the way we look at things. The change of attitude that growth achieves is one of the greatest pleasures that proper use of time ensures. Although movement is unavoidably important, moving in a wrong direction is very dangerous. The precious lessons the story of the prodigal son left for us is one of the greatest blessings of the Bible.
It is not possible to arrive anywhere important following every path. There is no path that leads to everywhere. There is no straight path to any place that is important. If we must be successful in our life assignments, we must allow preparation and time to determine all that we are meant to do. Because of the uniqueness of the messianic ministry of Jesus, He functioned very carefully yet courageously with time. Knowing what to do and when to do them empowers us to achieve so much in a short time. The messianic assignment the man Jesus accomplished was the assignment of Christ. To successfully accomplish this controversial assignment, it was necessary for the Son of man to put on the nature of the Son of God. This rich transformational experience that laid foundation for the success of Jesus’ messianism was the capital thing Jesus accomplished in His life. It wouldn’t have been possible for a Carpenter to accomplish the messianic assignment of the Son of God.
Taking our life assignments in stages will always empower us to finish well. The primary antics of satan in the life of ministers is to make sure they didn’t finish well. Don’t forget that your sincere effort and achievements will eventually be denied if you fall into the trap of a tempting deceiver. However, you will finish well if you do the first thing first. The end justifies the means. It is very pathetic that the pasts of so many people are not preserved because of the grievous way they ended.
The burden of the unbridled ministerial mishaps that are going on in the body of Christ was what inspired me to write this book. Thank you for sharing the burden with me as you carefully peruse through the enlightening pages of this inspiring book. Thanks!
