UNDERSTANDING THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

INTRODUCTION
Righteousness is the act of standing right before God. God is righteous because He stands right in Himself. Jesus Christ is the righteousness of God. The righteousness of Jesus Christ is what unites us with God. Uniting with God is living for Him. When Jesus Christ became the righteousness of God, He also became a way that leads to Himself. Jesus Christ is the only life we have in God. It is through the righteousness of Jesus Christ that we are brought into God’s awesome presence. Because we are hidden in Christ and Christ in God, we are without blame. The foundation of everything that will sustain itself is laid on righteousness. The righteousness of Jesus Christ is the hiding place of all saints. Concerning our individual righteousness, what we do for God is not as important as our worthiness to stand before Him. There is no relationship between God and anybody who is not clothed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ. When God clothes us with the righteousness of Christ, He expects us to lay down our lives. What we do for God is not as important as who we are to Him. The need for the church to understand righteousness which bears the bedrock of our salvation is what captured the attention of this book. There is no relationship between God and anybody who is spiritually and mentally naked. We need to be clothed with the robe of righteousness if we must take our place in God. Those who are clothed with Christ, the righteousness of God are made one with Him. Until the imputed righteousness of Christ secures a place for us at the right hand of the Majesty on High, our good works will not count in the sight of God. The primary reason why Jesus Christ came to the earth was to cloth us with the righteousness of God. Righteousness delivers from death; it shares covenant with life. The foundation of the eternal life of God is laid on the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Without the righteousness of Jesus Christ, we are nothing before God. I have watched the church for the past thirty years, the issue of righteousness need to be understood if this present church will fulfill her destiny. There are so many teachings that encourage people to establish their own righteousness before God. When what we do for God and ourselves is overemphasized, believers tend to drift away from the need for them to lean completely on the righteousness of Christ. Whatever we do for God will not be accepted if we refuse to give Jesus Christ His due place.We need to develop new interest in learning Christ. Learning Christ is part of our submission to Him. It is only those who learn Christ that can be clothed with the righteousness of God. The place the righteousness of Christ provides for us in God is why we need to be bold. There is strength in occupying our place in God. There is joy, pleasure and fulfillment of purpose in God’s presence. Satan separates people from God’s presence before he kills them. Those who desire to please God need to be told that it is only in the righteousness of Christ that we live, move and have our being. The desire of this book is to call the church to the principle of her submission and faithfulness to God.
