THE PROPHETIC LIFE OF THE EARTH

INTRODUCTION

⁹And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? ¹⁰And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. ¹¹And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; (Genesis 4vs.9-11)

²⁸Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not? ²⁹O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD. ³⁰Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah. (Jeremiah 22vs.28-30)

²¹And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; ²²And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel. ²³And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God. (Hosea 2vs.21-23)

The earth is alive and has the ability to sustain itself. All the activities of men are directed from the earth. The earth is a record-keeper that cares about how we relate with it. The earth can be wounded, it can also get old and die. The earth has a prophetic life because of its ability to carry the emotions of God. The earth can be positively or negatively influenced by those who know its life. God relates with the heavens through the earth but He relates with man through the earth. When Cain killed Abel, God received the information from the earth. The Bible says that the blood of Abel cried from the ground. This means that the earth reported the incidence to God through the heaven. The reason why the earth keeps the footprints of man is because of its willingness to record man’s activities. There is no act of man that can be hidden from the earth. Whatever we do on earth is reported to the heaven by the earth. Because man came from the earth, it has power over man. Every day the earth reports us to God. It is the prophetic life of the earth that God imparted upon man. If the earth is not prophetic, it wouldn’t have been possible for God to raise prophets from the earth. The earth reports everything that happens on it to God through the heavens. Those who know the prophetic life of the earth will always use it. It will not be possible to exercise real dominion on earth except we know its prophetic life.
