THE MAN WHO KEEPS GOD

INTRODUCTION

The best people in eternity are the men and women who have the capacity to keep God. The capacity to keep God is not given to everyone. There are people who can see God while there are those who can only hear God. Prophetic ministry was born as men kept hearing God; but there are some awesome people who can keep God. Having the ability to hear God or keep Him is by choice; it is God that decides who should hear or keep Him. The best people on earth are those who keep God. Those who can keep God are often like Him. Keeping something is more important than looking for it. Looking for money is not as important as having the capacity to keep it. How rich any man becomes on earth will be controlled by his capacity to keep money, not necessarily by his ability to make money. Some people don’t care about receiving the capacity to keep money; they only care about getting it. A lot of people don’t care about keeping what they have.

Before Christ came to the earth, He looked for a human capacity that could keep Him. The ability Jesus had to keep Christ was what made Him the best man that ever lived. There was a nature in the man Jesus that could house Christ. That nature in Jesus was not necessarily a holy nature, but a celestial one. There is a difference between being celestial and being holy. Some people practice only holiness. Holiness is one aspect of God’s brightness. It wasn’t holiness that made Jesus keep Christ; it was His unique nature. In marriage, compatibility is more important than expectations, but some people don’t care about compatibility. So, they end up being disappointed by unmet expectations. One does not need to go to school to learn about compatibility. It is a divine nature. It is not a behaviour, but a celestial nature. Haven’t you seen scenarios where a lady is doing everything to please a man, but he can’t be pleased? This is because they are not compatible. Incompatibility has no solution; it is much stronger than behaviour. The Bible in Hebrews 10:5 says that Jesus had a body that was compatible with Christ.

Hebrews 10:5, the Bible says, “5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:”

Being the Bread of life was not about holiness; but having a nature. The Water of life was also not about holiness, but Jesus’ nature. If a particular river body does not have a clean nature, it will be difficult to purify it. The Lion of Judah will not come to the earth until He gets a compatible personality; someone who will have the nature to keep His Spirit on earth.

In John 6:48-51, the Bible says, “48 I am that bread of life. 49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

Jesus was talking about His nature, not necessarily about behaviour. He said He is the living Bread that came from heaven. If you want to know your nature, search your origin. Jesus also said in Chapter Seven that He is the living water of life. He mentioned this several times and said whosoever drinks from Him shall never thirst.

In John 7:38, the Bible says, “38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

In John 4:10 & 13-14, the Bible says, “10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

After Jesus kept Christ, He transformed into Christ. Your destiny is in what you have the capacity to keep. God created Adam in His image and likeness, and Adam took the image of God but couldn’t keep it. Those who keep the image of God don’t sleep on it. When Adam slept, God produced a wife from him: something he had the capacity to keep. Adam eventually lost the image of God and took his own image. Jesus came to the earth to improve our ability to keep God. Many people become greedy and insatiable because they can’t keep God. You can’t keep God and keep so many other things at the same time.

People who can’t keep God, reject Him, and start looking for irrelevant things. When people turn to other things, they end up looking like those things. So, only those who keep death will die. Some of the things we have are not God’s will for us, but if God sees that anyone is preserved, He will give such a person preserved things. Who told Adam that he can have God and still want Eve? The desire to stay with Eve came to Adam because he lacked the capacity to keep God. Adam lacked the capacity to keep God; so, he went out of Eden. He started to suffer afterward and eventually died.

There is a state called bliss. It is the awesome and ever-lasting joy which men enjoy when they keep God. It is not possible to keep God and be anxious. But there is a difference between the God in heaven and the God in men. The God in men do not allow them to get worried. Eternal bliss does not hinge on any blessing; it is an eternal presence which God gives to those who keep Him. The tabernacle of God is a man who has the capacity to keep God. It is when we can keep God that death will be conquered. Many people are poor, and death keeps ravaging men because the temple that can keep God in them is broken. This temple is the temple of satisfaction. If God is in you, the first thing He does is to make sure you are satisfied with His presence. If God lives in you, there will be no sickness because infirmity cannot dwell in the same temple where God is.

More so, no one can have the ability to function like God unless they can keep Him. That is, God using someone is nothing; it is only a horizontal growth. What is more exalting is the ability to keep God. We cannot give people any capacity, people are simply born with their capacity. Capacity determines desire, power, and attention. God must be in us for us to have His capacity. Nothing is as powerful as knowing who you are. If you know your worth, you can decide to change somethings about yourself and then keep company with those who are like you. Those who are like you and know you very well can help you to a great extent. John knew Jesus; so, he related with Jesus through knowledge. One of the common mistake people make is relating with people from the way they live, rather than who they are. But when pressure comes on people, they will reveal who they are. Jesus revealed Christ. You cannot be a man on earth as a heavenly being and still wish to live like you’re from the earth. You cannot live like an earthman when a heavenly being in you wants to be one with you.

In John 3:31, the Bible says, “31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.”

Jesus did not come from heaven; but Christ did; but John described Him as a heavenly being because He had the capacity to keep Christ. Christ took Jesus to the cross in order to kill Him and make Him live forever. In Jesus was a mortal and divine being.
