THE ARK OF THE LAST TESTAMENT
INTRODUCTION
The Ark of the Covenant is a rectangular wooden box overlaid with gold. It contains the tablet of the law and is a symbol of God’s presence with His people. The Ark was not just a symbol of God’s presence, it had the life of God and His people. The Ark of the Covenant was like the throne of God in the midst of the ancient Jews. It was the presence of the Ark that separated Israel from all nations. God identified with the Ark as He fought for the ancient Jews. In fact, it was the source of their strength and protection. Getting to the Promised Land was possible for the Jews because of the presence of the Ark. The Ark was awesomely very powerful. All who confronted or despised its strength were destroyed by it.
The Ark also represented the encounters and relationship of God with Moses. Moses stored his life and value eternally in the legendary Ark of the Covenant. The Ark also represents the overlaying of the humanity of Moses with the divinity of God. The consecrated and devoted life of Moses was what made the building of the Ark of the Covenant possible. We must allow our lives to be used for whatever it is meant to be used for. If the coming of the ancient Hebrews out of Israel and entering into the Promised Land was made possible through the devotion of Moses, we must not deny God and the earth whatever that needs to be achieved through our lives. The earth is waiting for our value to advance in praise and we must take responsibility for it. It is expedient to invest our lives on things that are meant to preserve them.
There is so much God wants to accomplish through us. The reason why you were born is because of the particular problem, you are meant to solve. When Moses discovered that he was born to deliver Israel from the land of bondage and bring them into the Promised Land, he gave his life and everything he had to that particular assignment. He was shrewdly dedicated to the only assignment that was meant to produce value from his life. The attention of God to produce the ark was attracted by Moses’ interest.
The reason why I am writing about the Ark is because Moses was obedient to his call. Satan will steal and abuse any life that is not invested on its purpose. Subjecting Moses to constant spiritual and mental pressure that made the production of the ark possible was not convenient but it was needful. It was a job that had the eternal destiny of the ancient Jews and needed not to be neglected. I thank God for the day I discovered that there was a job that needed my life. I live the way I do because there is a particular job that has my name that must be accomplished for God and the waiting humanity.
