THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY
INTRODUCTION

This is 5:05am Nigeria time and I am sitting on my office chair in Aguda. Aguda is in the central area of Surulere, Lagos.

Today is the tenth day since the ill-fated plane crash that killed 153 people. My mind is troubled. That was the plane crash that brought the whole country to mourning. So many families lost their beloved ones. Some believers also died in the crush.

While I ruminated on the crash and a similar crash that happened the same week-end in Ghana, the need to write this book came to me. The question that queried my devoted mind was: is there no protection in Zion? It was also in the news that a man of God who ended service on Sunday morning also died in the crash that same evening. The crash shook the country because so many eminent Nigerians and important nationals also died in the crash. People said so many things about the ill-fated plane that crashed on top of a two storey building and killed so many people.

Some queried why God didn’t prevent the crash. In the midst of this disheartening news, I see the need of writing this book. There is security and protection in Zion. The eyes of God are upon the righteous and beneath His arm is our shelter of security. God protects only His people. Therefore, God brings us to an abiding place in Him where He can provide security for us. It is only those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High that can abide under the shadow of the Almighty. The shadow of the Almighty speaks of the presence of God. God provides shadow from His hiding place. The hiding place of God is the place of His revelation, vision and strength. Protection and security function through birth and covenant. A lot of people don’t care about protection until they are in trouble. God doesn’t want us to call Him only when we are in trouble. He desires to establish covenant relationship with us. Protection and security are not something we should pray for; it ought to be a life we must live daily. We must through covenant relationship make the secret place of the Most High our abiding place. When we are tied to God in a covenant walk, there are things we are not supposed to worry about. God abides with us in the place He had provided for us in Him. One of the outstanding sigs that separates God’s people from others is the presence of the God we carry.

Those who hide in God are hidden by God. When we hide in God, He shelters us with the shadow of His wings. But the fact still remains that spirits don’t cast shadows because they are formless. The shadow of the Almighty is a revelation, vision and instruction through which God incarnates a man, so as to make him a covering for other men. When men become gods, other men hide in the shadow of their revelation and change. This particular season in the history of man is marked by violence and disaster, so we need protection and security. The prophesied end time is marked with eschatological events which are gradually unfolding themselves, and the Church must reposition herself so that she can be protected to fulfill her prophetic mandate. God doesn’t want our lives to be cut short by the enemy. His ultimate desire is to provide a hiding place for us. Therefore, the need to abide surely in God’s security is why this book was written. You can live without fear. Fear torments only those who are not sheltered in the shadow of the Almighty. God makes provision for our security but we must discover it and take solid advantage of it. God doesn’t protect strangers. Protection and security are inculcated in the redemptive privileges of God. Those who don’t have place in God can’t be protected by God. This is not the time to live carelessly. A lot of people don’t care about involving God consciously in their programmes, only to call Him when they have problems. This book is zealously written to declare the sacred destiny of the redeemed. It establishes that believers should enjoy the protection and security of God. God through the revelation of this book desires to end fear in our lives, abort mishaps and build a place of rest and safety underneath His arms. It is a must-read for all whose desire is to be untouchable in these evil days.
