Postures must be considered if right results must be gotten in prayer. There are prayers you offer through supplication and worship with your face on the ground. Spiritual warfare or prayer that involves resisting the enemy should be done standing. Prayer burdens that are personal shouldn’t be shared with people. Taking Peter, James and John to Gethsemane didn’t produce any tangible result because they slept all through while Jesus prayed.

Coming into God’s presence with reverence reveals our relationship with Him. Those who have difficulty in reverencing God will not be honoured in the midst of men. God cares about the posture we take when we come into His presence. The posture we take in prayer affects its fervency, effectiveness, reflects our heart desires and the enormity of our prayer. If you don’t close your eyes while praying, how do you shut out the distracting world? However, fasting tames the flesh, quickens the spirit and positions us for quick answers from the Lord. Fasting makes prayer fervent, efficacious, very powerful and empowers saints to accomplish extraordinary feats within a limited time. God depends on the unfading strength of believers to accomplish the unbelievable. The hunger to fast is a sign that God is with us and that satan is defeated in our lives. Ferocious spiritual battles are won as we wrestle on our knees. It was at a kneeling position that Jesus gave birth to Christ. Jacob wrestled Israel out of himself. God can alter any situation when He gets travailers. The highest form of enlightenment produces self-birth which is the greatest form of self-development. All enlightened personalities are travailers. Light generates the burden for prayers. Those who negotiate their destinies with God on their knees find it difficult to murmur against Him. When we learn to tarry on our knees, God will be compelled to move us from glory to glory.

Moreover, mountains or wilderness are preferred for special retreats for providing suitable conditions or uninterrupted fellowship with God. The divinity of God in men yearns for constant fellowship. One of the gains of retreating to the mountain is that it provides God the opportunity to unveil us. Luke 22vs.43-45, the Bible said that His sweat was like drops of blood.

Sweat speaks and its voice is made precious by the purpose it accomplishes. Every form of travailing prayer that takes energy, inner drive and soul motivation must produce sweat. The measure of attention we pay to prayer has so much to do with the kind of destiny we have. Praying earnestly provides us with the grace to accomplish the will of God. The human eye is a gate that connects to different worlds; so, closing our eyes while praying prevents distractions and encourages focused concentration that is highly imperative. The human heart is like a book that opens only to concentrated readers.

Closing our eyes during prayer tames our minds. Tarrying on your knees until the result is delivered will require determination and persistence. However, those who are captured by a particular vision can do anything to establish its immortality. All vision-based prayers are result-producing. When vision helps a man to conquer himself on his knees, he can win any battle. At Gethsemane, Jesus wrestled vehemently with Himself to accomplish redemption.

What’s more, the reason we must hear what we are telling God in prayers is because God hears through us. God uses the mouth of men to speak to them. Hearing what we tell God in prayer authenticates our participation. Words of men represent their lives and spirits. God hear us through our ears. When vision unites us with God, even our thought will be acceptable to Him.

In conclusion, praying alone most of the times is very important because there are burdens that we can’t share with people; fervent prayers are burden-oriented. Burden can’t completely be expressed in words. It is the gift of grace that most times determines accomplishment.

There are certain prayer concentrations that can only be achieved in the mountain and wilderness to avoid distractions. God can only share vital secrets with men in isolated places as they shed off the cares of the world. It will take high measure of divinity for a man to fast for forty days without food and water. You must not embark on this type of fasting if you are not an incarnate man. Crowding ourselves constantly with the fallen activities of this world devastates our choice to be like God. Staying alone with God is one of the best prayer postures we can ever take.

Taking result-oriented postures in prayer will launch you into the realm of the miraculous.
