INTRODUCTION

Everything God created lives from its name. It is the names we bear that introduce us to God. The true nature of anything is revealed through its name. It is not possible to separate the name of a man from his destiny. Spirits lay claim over people’s lives by giving them names. A wrong name disconnects a man from God and his destiny. Every man’s name connects him to the source of the name. The name of every man reveals the nature of the spirit in him. Societies that care about their future don’t trifle with the opportunities names provide. Rich destinies can be apprehended through our names. God cares about the name we bear because it is only through our names that He can relate with us. It is through our names that God plans our future. We must not answer a name because we like it but because it connects us to our destinies. The cheapest way to ruin the destiny of a particular child is by calling him a name that will not connect him to his future. It was the name of Jesus that attracted the incarnate Christ. It is only a Jesus that can be called Christ.

Everything about our destinies rises and falls on names. One of the early battles we should fight when a child is born is the battle of securing a suitable name for him. God manifested great strength in making sure that John was not called Zacharias because of his kind of destiny. However, names can be changed if it is necessary. God changed the name of Abram to Abraham and the name of Sarai to Sarah. Change of their names was important because God had improved their lives and destinies. Our destinies can’t be separated from the names we bear. A name can improve, limit or destroy a man’s destiny. This is why we must learn to depend on the power in a name to secure an open door. It is the names of men that give God access to the earth. God depended on the exalted and empowered name of Jesus to establish His spiritual kingdom. It is through the name of Jesus Christ that God raised the New Testament Church. Lives of men and whatever they have are preserved on earth through their names.

It is the price men pay to obtain a name that preserves their names. Because of how important an empowered name is, Jesus Christ accepted the cross. When He died and rose from the grave, He became the head of principalities and powers. Having an empowered name is one of the greatest privileges that life provides. God exercises dominion on earth through the empowered names of men. Any door that the names of men didn’t open on earth will not be opened through any other means. This book was inspired by the Holy Spirit to encourage believers to secure their future through their names.
