UNDERSTANDING HOW TO INTERPRET YOUR OWN DESTINY
INTRODUCTION
“29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified”. (Romans 8:29-30)
“9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it”. (Isaiah 46:9-11)
UNDERSTANDING HOW TO INTERPRET YOUR OWN DESTINY
Destiny is the purpose or end to which any person or thing is appointed. It is an unavoidable fate. Every destiny leads to a destination and it is destiny that determines destination. It is not possible to separate where we are going from the road that leads to the place. The road that leads to any destination is more important than the destination. Destinies are crowned in destinations. However, destinies are predestined. It is preordained by unchangeable purpose. Destiny is fated. God wills men’s future before bringing it to pass. Destinies are established according to the will of God. Where the will of God is not known, destiny can’t be established. Everybody on earth is born to fulfill a particular destiny, so destiny is higher than life. The destiny of every man is what sustains the life of the man. The decrees of God rule in all eternity. Destinies are established from the fore-knowledge of God. There is also strength in the fore-knowledge of God to establish God’s predestinated future. It is what God knows about us that aid Him in forging our future. Since reason for living is larger than life, then the value of our lives is interpreted from our reason for living.
INTERPRETING DESTINY FROM WHO WE ARE
It is not possible for somebody who doesn’t know who he is to understand what to live for. Therefore, accomplishment of life’s purpose is meant only for self-discovered men. Both the path that leads to where we are going and our destination are established in the recreated spirit of our individual lives. What we will become in future can’t be separated from what we are doing with our lives now. When Jesus came to the earth as the Mediator of the New Testament, He represented God and the way that leads to God. Where men will arrive on earth is controlled by the road they follow continuously. A lot of people care about where they want to arrive but are nonchalant about the road that they are following. God makes our destinies from the discovered personality in us. We are expected to be part of our destinies and those who must be part of their destinies must learn to mine themselves. Jesus was able to accomplish His messianic ministry because He discovered the Christ that was in Him. He depended on the knowledge of Christ in Him to forge His Messianic ministry.
